The aim of this section is to offer a series of indicators that allow us to
view, evaluate and pursue the state-of-the-art concerning the research and innovation
system of the Community of Madrid (CM). The CM hosts the greatest concentration
of resources and agents involved in the processes of generating and disseminating
scientific and technological knowledge.
The indicators are the result of three research projects intended to develop
the tools needed to collect and analyse data concerning the following aspects:
Structure of institutions
and agents involved in research and innovation system
Knowledge generating activities
developed by agents, resource assignment to these activities, interactions between
them, and the ways in which innovation is disseminated and appropriated
Intellectual capital and
knowledge management in universities and public research centres
Results of these activities
and the efficiency in achieving them with particular emphasis on scientific
and technological out put assessed by the scientific publications gathered
from the main national and international databases.
