Group Leader in Electrochemical Capacitors

Job Function
We are looking for highly skilled and motivated individual to lead our efforts in energy storage research focusing on electrochemical capacitors.
Furthermore, the successful candidate will define research directions, develop roadmaps and work plans and technical strategies for the supercapacitor group and managing its own budget.

What we need
A Ph.D. in Chemical or Materials Engineering, Chemistry, Electrochemistry, or any related area is required. Candidates must have at least 5 years of experience in supercapacitor field. In particular, the successful candidate should have solid background in electrode materials for double-layer capacitors and pseudocapacitors. These include nanoporous, low-dimensional and functionalized carbons and transitional metal oxides/nitrides. The applicant should also possess proven expertise across aqueous, organic, ionic liquid electrolytes as well as cell engineering (symmetric, asymmetric/hybrid cells). The successful candidate must have an established track record of past achievements in managing R&D projects (at PI or Co-PI level), supervision of graduate students and proven ability to obtain competitive research funding.
Applicants should be fluent in English. Knowledge of Spanish and/or Basque will be considered useful but not compulsory.
Ability to communicate, to identify research direction lines with high innovative potential, to work independently or in team environment, to motivate team members, and coordinate collaborations with university and industrial partners, establish R&D priorities for industrial projects, and manage budgets will be valuable.
