Candidates cannot have carried out have their work in Spain for more than 12 months over the last three years. Applicants are expected to possess a strong publication record with exper  ience in cellular and molecular biology, intracellular signaling, primary/cell culture and animal models of type 2 diabetes.
A background in inter-cellular lipid signaling systems will be also an advantage.

Job Description:

 

The Acylethanolamides in pancreatic islets and diabetes group headed by Dr.F. Javier Bermúdez-Silva

n/recGruposInvestigacionDet/2179/4045) is looking for motivated postdoctoral researchers to apply for a Marie Curie incoming intra-european or international fellowship. The project will focus on unraveling the intracellular mechanisms operating in islets after activation/blocking of some receptors/pathways involved in insulin secretion and beta cell mass expansion. Indeed, animal models of type 2 diabetes will be used to assess the therapeutic potential of pharmacological interventions based on these targets.  Applicants must be experienced researchers in cell and molecular biology with a doctoral degree in biomedicine. Candidates cannot have carried out have their work in Spain for more than 12 months over the last three years. IBIMA (Instituto de Investigación Biomédica de Málaga)  is a new non-profit public research institute, comprising research groups belonging to both the academic area (the University of Malaga) and Malaga's hospitals (Hospital Virgen de la Victoria and Hospital Carlos Haya), dedicated to basic, translational and clinical research of excellence.
