The "Primary dyslipidemias and atherosclerosis” Research Group at Aragón Institute of Health Sciences (I+CS), Spain, is looking for a motivated postdoctoral researcher to join a research project focusing on the identification of new loci causing primary hyperlipidemias, including hypercholesterolemia and hypertriglyceridemia. In patients having a primary hyperlipidemia, sequencing of new candidate genes will be carried out, together with, genotyping and association and linkage studies in selected families. Isolation and characterization of lipoproteins by ultracentrifugation and proteomic/metabolomic techniques will be applied in order to better characterize the primary hyperlipidemias. Results of the project will provide a better knowledge of the molecular causes of primary hyperlipidemias, which will facilitate the clinical management of hyperlipidemic patients.
The postdoctoral researcher must have at least 4 years of postdoctoral experience and not have lived/worked in Spain for more than 12 months in the last 3 years.
Marie Curie Intra-European Fellowships (IEF) offer a 2-year contract. The call deadline is 16th August 2012.
