Predoctoral Scientist position at IFT to work on theoretical physics.
The Institute of Theoretical Physics UAM/CSIC is a joint research centre belonging to Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (Spanish Research Council) and Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (UAM). Its goals are the development of quality scientific research in the field of Theoretical Physics, as well as contributing to the formation of young researchers and professionals and to the transmission of this knowledge to the rest of society.
Characteristics of the position:
Candidates will be required to be doing their PhD in the field of theoretical physics being able of conducting original research in the field of High Energy Physics, specifically in Physics beyond the Standard Model that could address the underlying Flavor Physics in the observed masses spectrum and mixing pattern for the quark and lepton sector as well. Particularly, will be analyzed the modifications in some Standard Model experimental observables by assuming a strong light Higgs dynamics implemented with a Minimal Flavor Violation hypothesis. Such modifications can be testable with the experimental LHC results. While they must be capable of independent work, it must integrate within the general research program of existing research groups at the IFT.
Qualifications:
Candidates must be physics graduates by the time the contract starts. Fluid command of the English language is required.
