José de la Sota Ríus

José de la Sota Ríus has eighteen years of experience in management positions in both public and private sector foundations. Experience in the design, launch and management of non-profit entities. Member of the board of trustees of several public sector foundations linked to scientific research and technological development.

He is an expert in the management of programs of science, technology and innovation and in the development of public programs for the promotion of scientific research and technological innovation. He has participated directly in the design and drafting of the III and IV Regional Plans for Scientific Research and Technological Innovation of the Community of Madrid (2000-2008) and has participated as an expert for other Spanish and Ibero-American regions.  He has managed technology transfer programmes, surveillance and economic intelligence, creation of science-based technology and culture companies and scientific communication.

He has extensive experience in managing people and leading teams focused on creating projects, managing them, seeking funding and establishing effective networks.

Expert in institutional relations with extensive experience with public and private universities, local, regional and state governments, business associations, SMEs and large technology companies. He has given lectures and courses both in Spain and Latin America related to the topic.

He has over fifteen years of experience in defining and creating content and Internet tools as a tool for collaboration.

He is a member of the Board of Trustees and Delegate Committees of IMDEA Nanoscience, IMDEA Materials, IMDEA Software, IMDEA Networks, IMDEA Energy, IMDEA Water.

Head of the Technological Based Entrepreneur Area

Eduardo Díaz Sánchez

Eduardo Díaz Sánchez has a degree in Physical Sciences and a MBA from Instituto de Empresa. Since 2004, he has directed the Technology Based Entrepreneur Area of the madri+d Knowledge Foundation, which promotes the creation and consolidation of companies based on scientific-technological knowledge. He has held various positions as manager of strategic consulting in SOCINTEC, corporación IBV (1993-2004), responsible for international projects management of electronics defense in INDRA (1989-1993) or software engineer in EPEL (1988-1989).

He is an expert in technology management and business innovation and has led more than 50 projects and networks in the areas of technology management and transfer, sectoral innovation policies and the exploitation, dissemination and commercialization of research results. He currently mobilizes resources and private financing through incubation programs for startups based on space technology (ESA BIC Comunidad de Madrid), clean technologies (Cleantechstart) and health technologies (Healthstart), the network of Busines Angels BAN madri+d and the Mentoring Network madri+d. He has launched more than 300 activities for the dissemination and support of entrepreneurship in network with university, scientific and business institutions.

As a university professor (Universidad Carlos III) and until now he has published more than 100 articles and studies related to innovation and technology-based entrepreneurship.

Teresa Barbado Salmerón

Teresa Barbado holds a degree in Political Science and Sociology from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid, specialising in International Relations and Ibero-American Studies.

Since 2008, she has been the Director of the Communication and Scientific Information Area of the madri+d Knowledge Foundation. Among her functions, she has coordinated the content management of the scientific information and communication portal and the innovation portal www.madrimasd.org and its Newsletter Notiweb, as well as the organization of scientific culture events and citizen participation in science, technology and innovation. Until then, and since 2004 she has been responsible for the Foundation's Science and Society Programme.

Since 1996, she has been responsible for the Programme for the Development and Promotion of Research Groups in the Humanities and Social Sciences Area of the General Directorate of Universities and Research of the Community of Madrid and for the call for the Creation and Consolidation of Research Groups of Madrid's Public Universities and the Higher Council for Scientific Research.

She participated, since its creation in 1990, in the then Madrid Office of Research Promotion of the Department of Education of the Community of Madrid in the drafting and implementation of the I Regional Research Plan, after having served on the Interministerial Commission of Science and Technology of the Government of Spain.

She has coordinated, as head, projects of scientific culture and social communication of science, both national and European, and has actively participated in discussion forums for the dissemination of science.

She is a member, representative of the madri+d Knowledge Foundation, of EUSEA (European Science Events Association).

Óscar Vadillo Muñoz

Óscar Vadillo Muñoz has a degree in Physical Sciences with the research sufficiency recognized by the Universidad Complutense de Madrid, Master in Management and Quality Management in Higher Education by the Instituto Universitario de Investigación Ortega y Gasset (UCM) and specialist in Environmental Management by the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid.

Up to 2003, his career was developed in the field of the transfer of research results (OTRI-UCM) developing activities related to the management of the research, identification of the needs of R+D+i of companies and institutions, analysis and commercialization of technologies. Since 2004 his professional activity has been linked to the field of Quality Assessment of Higher Education as Head of Accreditation in the Agency for Quality, Accreditation and Prospective Studies of the Universities of Madrid and in the madri+d Foundation for Knowledge. During this period he is responsible for the design, management and coordination of different quality assessment programmes for people and qualifications as well as training courses for process evaluators. He has worked as an evaluator in different assessment agencies.

His professional activity is compatible with his teaching activity as an associate professor in the Departments of Geophysics and Meteorology and Statistics and Operative Research at the Complutense University of Madrid, where he teaches subjects in the area of probability and statistics.

Concha Serrano Alcaide

Concha Serrano Alcaide, Phd in Law, obtained her academic training at the Madrid Complutense University. For several years she taught as a lecturer in the Department of Special Private Law at the Faculty of Law and Economic and Business Sciences of the University of Malaga. Subsequently, she held the position of legal advisor to the Directorate General of Agriculture of the Department of Environment of the Community of Madrid, being responsible for coordinating legal procedures in the field of town planning and public domains. She was appointed Advisor to the Cabinet of the Department of Education of the Community of Madrid for two years after which she held the position of Head of Legal System and Management of the Agency for Quality, Accreditation and Prospective Studies of the Universities of Madrid, assuming functions in the management of processes, legal and normative and conventional issues of the Agency. Currently, as Head of Teacher Evaluation at the Foundation, she is responsible for the design, management and coordination of different university quality evaluation programs.

In her research activity, she has been a member of several Research Groups on History of Legal Institutions. She is the author of several books on Catalan historiography from the 18th, 19th and 20th centuries and personalities of the Second Republic. She has participated in several congresses on historical-legal, civil and administrative issues.

Raúl de Andrés Pérez

Raúl de Andrés Pérez holds a degree in Industrial Engineering (2000) from the Carlos III University of Madrid and a Master's degree in Economics and Innovation Management (2017), an inter-university degree from the Complutense University of Madrid, the Autonomous University of Madrid and the Polytechnic University of Madrid. Since 2014 he is the Quality Manager of madri+d Foundation for Knowledge of the Community of Madrid.

In 2000 he joined the Technological Center of Madrid as a project consultant, where he specialized in the development and implementation of quality management systems based on the ISO 9001 standard and systems of technical competence of testing laboratories based on the ISO 17025 standard and similar. In 2005, he joined the University of Alcalá, as head of management of the Network of Laboratories and Infrastructures of the Community of Madrid, which includes more than 300 laboratories belonging to universities and public research centers that provide services to external users, being in a singular way responsible for the design and coordination of the network's training program, advice to external laboratories and users on quality, certification and accreditation, implementing evaluation systems and monitoring the quality of laboratories and ensuring collaboration with stakeholders such as the National Accreditation Body, ENAC, and participation in international networks.

In 2013, he joined madri+d Foundation for Knowledge in charge of maintaining the Network of Laboratories and Infrastructures and leading the participation of the Foundation in the Bilateral Europe-Morocco MOBILISE Project. Since 2014, he has incorporated responsibility for the Foundation's quality system into his functions, assuming the development and maintenance of the Foundation's internal Quality System, ISO 9001 quality certification and coordinating the processes of belonging to the European Association of Quality Assurance Agencies, ENQA, and the European Register of University Quality Agencies, EQAR.
