Most information which Competitive Intelligence analysts work with is public, and can be found in different sources (bank reports, internal publications, press, specialized journals, Internet, etc.). The work of Competitive Intelligence consists in bringing this information together, producing reports and distributing them to the right people. In this sense, the latest generation of tools such as: automatic data capture, viewing by means of maps, text mining, alert systems or RSS formats (Really Simple Syndication), allow us to obtain surprising results.

COMPETITIVE INTELLIGENCE: A FUNDAMENTAL SUPPORT FOR INNOVATION IN DIFFERENT INDUSTRIAL SECTORS (SIMULTANEOUS TABLES)
The search for excellence makes corporations understand Competitive Intelligence as a key element for decision making. Having great quantities of information or data is now not sufficient. The difference is in the selection and analysis of the available information and in transforming it into intelligence, so that sectors and corporations can adapt to the demands of their environment.
This session tries to understand Competitive Intelligence practices by means of a selection of Spanish Companies divided amongst four Sectorial tables whose conclusions will be presented and discussed in the final round table.
