Proposal of a Corporate Responsibility Holistic Model

The proposal of a CR-MAP model of Corporate Responsibility tries to offer a holistic, systematic, rigorous and objective approach to reflection and action in the corporate responsibility realm. The framework for the proposal is offered by the Strategic Management with the consideration of stakeholders’ objectives.
The model is built on nine dimensions based on the EFQM Excellence Model® criteria: Leadership, Policy and Strategy, People, Partnerships and Resources, Processes, Customer Results, People Results, Society Results, and Key Performance Results. Those dimensions expand toward the three corporate responsibility spheres (economy, society, and environment), deploying cognitive coordinates and reflections.

Knowledge Management in knowledge-intensive organizations: similarities and differences

our interest focuses on knowledge management in knowledge intensive organizations. For this study, we have analysed two types of organizations: academic laboratories and high technology based enterprises – HTBE located in industrial and technology parks. To analyse them, we have used two methodologies: A field study done through direct observation, interviews and the follow up of improvement projects done at two laboratories; and another, based on a survey done through personal interviews to a representative sample of HTBE managers and business innovation centres (BIC). Both methodologies were conducted in Europe, showing the great importance of knowledge management in those organizations, mainly in order to articulate knowledge coming from inside and outside the organization and to support the creation of new knowledge, an essential issue for their survival.

Must we change universities?

After a decade of normative changes, I feel a cycle’s end, and the beginning of a brand new one. It is compulsory to think about the future university, and to deal with new goals and new changes. Also language must evolve, because we repeat the known issues, and it is needed to talk about the hidden ones.
