technological and personal competencies support the generation of
competitive advantages difficult to imitate by competitors. The impact of
each of the elements that make up the competencies are also analysed
emphasising their strategic dimension. |

Process of knowledge management and technological competencies in inter firm co-operation agreements

In this paper, the authors start from the consideration
of the innovation process as learning process that uses and generates a
great diversity of knowledge. Having in mind that the base of innovation
resides in the firm technological competencies, and that the competencies
depend on individual and organisational learning, the authors analyse the
topic of inter-organisational learning, because the resource view
perspective and specially the knowledge management theory accepts that
co-operation is an strategic option better than individual actions to
acquire, generate and transfer knowledge. The paper ends proposing
different phases for the process of inter-organisational learning
management with the objective of improving learning in order to
acquire and consolidate technological competencies. |

The acceleration of the internacionalization of the
economy and its consequences over the production organization affect in a
crescent way to aspects that a few years ago looked independents of that
process. The reason is that its features looked require a high
concentration around the companies main offices. One of those aspects is
the creation and transference of technology. |

Strategy and internet: the strategic process and its relation with the challenges of the new economy

This paper explores the relation between the importance
that some Spanish firms give to new technologies, the use of internet, the
perception of the intensity of their strategic challenge and the
formalization of their strategic processes. A sample of 33 medium and big
Spanish firms has been selected in order to developed a case study to
identify the strategic process followed by each company and the use they
make of the internet in their respective web pages. |

Science and Technology indicators for a debate

After emphasising the importance of having accurate
indicators for the assessment of the realised effort in Science and
Technology, the author presents, very shortly, the objectives of three
research projects developed by research groups from the Consejo Superior
de Investigaciones Científicas, Universidad Autónoma de Madrid and
Universidad Complutense de Madrid. These groups are co-ordinated and
funded by the Dirección de Investigación de la Comunidad de Madrid who
is interested in monitoring the situation of the Innovation and Research
System in the Comunidad de Madrid. |
