Nuevamente una <a href=\"http:\/\/www.madrimasd.org\/informacionIDI\/noticias\/noticia.asp?id=26084\" target=\"blank\">agencia de noticias<\/a> se hace eco de \u00e9l. Nuevamente, de manera incorrecta. Nos referimos la estrella Beta Pictoris y a su sistema planetario.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<div align=\"justify\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/laeff.inta.es\/users\/barrado\/weblog\/BetaPicWarp_HST.jpg\" width=\"450\"><br \/> <span style=\"font-style: italic;\">Imagen optenida con el telescopio espacial Hubble y el instrumento STIS, junto con una comparaci\u00f3n con el tama\u00f1o del Sistema Solar (cr\u00e9dito NASA\/ESA). La luz de la estrella , mucho m\u00e1s brillante que el disco, esta bloqueda.<\/span><\/p>\n<p> Beta Pictoris, una estrella de tipo espectral A5V (lo que equivale a una temperatura efectiva de unos 8500 K), relativamente masiva y bastante j\u00f3ven (unos 20 millones de a\u00f1os) presenta fuertes excesos infrarrojos, que primero fueron detectados por el sat\u00e9lite IRAS en el a\u00f1o 1983. Un a\u00f1o m\u00e1s tarde, B. Smith y R.J. Terrile obtuvieron im\u00e1genes en el \u00f3ptico en la que vieron directamente un disco protoplanetario (material procesado) alrededor de la estrella, disco que presumiblemente est\u00e1 formado por polvo y gas. <\/p>\n<p> <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/laeff.inta.es\/users\/barrado\/weblog\/BetaPic0p5mu.jpg\" width=\"450\"><br \/> <span style=\"font-style: italic;\">El disco de Beta Pic, visto en el visible (0.5 micras, o 5000 angstrom). Un coron\u00f3grafo impide que la luz de la estrella llegue al detector.<\/span><\/p>\n<p> Esta estrella ha sido estudiada en gran profundidad, y ahora tenemos numerosas im\u00e1genes tomadas con diferentes instrumentos (adjunto algunas) y a diversas longitudes de onda.<\/p>\n<p> <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/laeff.inta.es\/users\/barrado\/weblog\/BetaPic1p6mu.jpg\" width=\"450\"><br \/> <span style=\"font-style: italic;\">El disco de Beta Pic, observado en el infrarrojo cercano (1.6 micras).<\/span><\/p>\n<p> Lo que NASA ha anunciado ahora es el descubrimiento de una gran cantidad de gas de carbono mediante el uso del sat\u00e9lite de rayos ultravioleta&nbsp; FUSE. Los autores del estudio, liderado por A. Roberge, especulan con la posibilidad de que los posibles planetas que se formen a partir del disco que rodea la estrella est\u00e9n compuestos por carbono. Pero me gustar\u00eda recalcar que solo es una especulaci\u00f3n. <\/div>\n<p> <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/laeff.inta.es\/users\/barrado\/weblog\/BetaPic10mu.jpg\" width=\"450\"><br \/> <span style=\"font-style: italic;\">El disco de Beta Pic, en el infrarrojo medio (10 micras).
