{"id":131667,"date":"2010-10-25T02:17:46","date_gmt":"2010-10-25T01:17:46","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.madrimasd.org\/blogs\/biocienciatecnologia\/?p=131667"},"modified":"2010-10-25T02:17:46","modified_gmt":"2010-10-25T01:17:46","slug":"formacion-de-tejidos-epiteliales","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.madrimasd.org\/blogs\/biocienciatecnologia\/2010\/10\/25\/131667","title":{"rendered":"Formaci\u00f3n de tejidos epiteliales&#8230;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Seg\u00fan la cada vez m\u00e1s sabia <a href=\"http:\/\/es.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Wikipedia:Portada\">Wikipedia<\/a>, el <a href=\"http:\/\/es.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Epitelio\">epitelio<\/a> es el tejido formado por una o varias capas de c\u00e9lulas unidas entre s\u00ed, que recubren las superficies libres del organismo y constituyen el revestimiento de cavidades, \u00f3rganos y piel, as\u00ed como mucosas y gl\u00e1ndulas&#8230;<\/p>\n<figure style=\"width: 265px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"http:\/\/es.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Epitelio\"><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"C\u00e9lulas epiteliales\" src=\"http:\/\/2.bp.blogspot.com\/_SFUa9AyBte4\/STHkGwDrTcI\/AAAAAAAAAUw\/kYhK6Ljl41U\/s320\/epitelio+ciliado.gif\" alt=\"C\u00e9lulas epiteliales\" width=\"265\" height=\"227\" \/><\/a><figcaption class=\"wp-caption-text\">C\u00e9lulas epiteliales<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Los epitelios adquieren <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nature.com\/nrm\/focus\/polarity\/index.html\">polaridad celular<\/a>, o lo que es lo mismo, \u201cidentidad funcional\u201d con la formaci\u00f3n de dos regiones muy diferenciadas que ejercen funciones distintas: una <a href=\"http:\/\/es.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Epitelio\">membrana celular apical<\/a>, que los separa del exterior, y una membrana basal, que los conecta con los vasos sangu\u00edneos y la matriz extracelular subyacente.<\/p>\n<p>Un equipo de investigadores, con participaci\u00f3n del Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Cient\u00edficas, ha descrito <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/pubmed\/20890297\">el mecanismo celular que interviene en la formaci\u00f3n de tejidos epiteliales<\/a>, capas celulares que, como se ha se\u00f1alado, recubren el organismo y que constituyen el 60% de las c\u00e9lulas del cuerpo humano. Esta maquinaria, que provoca que los epitelios adquieran, durante el desarrollo embrionario, polaridad celular, podr\u00eda intervenir en la formaci\u00f3n de tumores.<\/p>\n<p>La mayor parte de los tumores con peor diagn\u00f3stico <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nature.com\/ncb\/journal\/vaop\/ncurrent\/full\/ncb2106.html\">se originan en estos tejidos<\/a>. Seg\u00fan Fernando Mart\u00edn-Belmonte, investigador del <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cbm.uam.es\/mkfactory.esdomain\/webs\/CBMSO\/plt_LineasInvestigacion.aspx?IdObjeto=101\">CBMSO<\/a> y coautor del trabajo que ha sido publicado en <em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.nature.com\/ncb\/journal\/vaop\/ncurrent\/full\/ncb2106.html\">Nature Cell Biology<\/a><\/em>, \u201cel 80% de los c\u00e1nceres fatales proceden de <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Carcinoma\">carcinomas<\/a> (tumores de origen epitelial). Precisamente, una de las caracter\u00edsticas m\u00e1s importantes para la progresi\u00f3n tumoral es la p\u00e9rdida de la polaridad celular de las c\u00e9lulas epiteliales\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Junto al equipo espa\u00f1ol, en el estudio han participado dos equipos de las universidades de California y Helsinki.
