C\u00e9lulas madre embrionarios, adultas, de cord\u00f3n umbilical y, sobre todo, aquellas <a href=\"http:\/\/www.analesranf.com\/index.php\/mono\/issue\/view\/360\">pluripotentes inducidas<\/a> que parecen destinadas a gobernar las terapias futuras. Eso s\u00ed, siempre y cuando sean seguras&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>El investigador japon\u00e9s <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Shinya_Yamanaka\">Shinya Yamanaka<\/a>, de la <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kyoto-u.ac.jp\/en\">Universidad de Kyoto<\/a> y actual Premio Fundaci\u00f3n BBVA <a href=\"http:\/\/www.fbbva.es\/TLFU\/tlfu\/esp\/microsites\/premios\/fronteras\/index.jsp\">Fronteras del Conocimiento<\/a>, desarroll\u00f3 hace unos a\u00f1os las prometedoras <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Induced_pluripotent_stem_cell\">c\u00e9lulas iPS<\/a> \u2013c\u00e9lulas madre pluripotentes inducidas-. Mediante la inserci\u00f3n de varios genes \u2013algunos potencialmente peligrosos- o directamente de sus prote\u00ednas codificantes, estas c\u00e9lulas pueden reprogramarse, convertirse casi en embrionarias y originar cualquier otro tipo celular. Sin embargo, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.madrimasd.org\/informacionidi\/noticias\/noticia.asp?id=47186\">no todo parece de color rosa&#8230;<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Un equipo dirigido por <a href=\"http:\/\/www.salk.edu\/faculty\/ecker.html\">Joseph Ecker<\/a>, del Instituto Salk de California \u2013con colaboraci\u00f3n del padre de las c\u00e9lulas madre embrionarias <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/James_Thomson_(cell_biologist)\">James Thomson<\/a>-, acaba de hacer p\u00fablico en <em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/pubmed\/21289626\">Nature<\/a><\/em> un problema inesperado. C\u00e9lulas de la piel transformadas en pluripotentes no borraron todo su programa gen\u00e9tico para adaptarlo a su nueva condici\u00f3n de pluripotencia. Algunos puntos del genoma \u2013denominados \u201chotspots\u201d o \u201cpuntos calientes\u201d persist\u00edan tal y como estaban en la piel adulta.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.madrimasd.org\/blogs\/biocienciatecnologia\/files\/2011\/02\/IPSC_cell.gif\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-131852 alignnone\" src=\"https:\/\/www.madrimasd.org\/blogs\/biocienciatecnologia\/files\/2011\/02\/IPSC_cell.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"509\" height=\"358\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.madrimasd.org\/blogs\/biocienciatecnologia\/files\/2011\/02\/IPSC_cell.gif 566w, https:\/\/www.madrimasd.org\/blogs\/biocienciatecnologia\/files\/2011\/02\/IPSC_cell-300x210.gif 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 509px) 100vw, 509px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Concretamente, los problemas detectados hac\u00edan referencia no ya a la secuencia del ADN en s\u00ed, sino a modificaciones posteriores importantes para la expresi\u00f3n de unos genes u otros: la <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Epigenetics\">epigen\u00e9tica<\/a>.
