In particular, I focus on the epistemic role of bio-ontologies:<br \/>\nthat is, classification systems recently introduced in biology which<br \/>\nhave come to play a cr ucial role in the dissemination of results across<br \/>\nresearch contexts, as well as in the extraction of inferences and<br \/>\ntestable hypothesis from available datasets.
