La misi\u00f3n del CEI (o ERC, en ingl\u00e9s) es la de promover la excelencia en Europa, a trav\u00e9s de la financiaci\u00f3n de la investigaci\u00f3n de alta calidad en todos los campos de la ciencia, incluidas las ciencias humanas y las humanidades.<\/P><!--more--><P class=MsoNormal style=\"MARGIN: 0cm 0cm 0pt; TEXT-ALIGN: justify\">El CEI est\u00e1 formado por un <I style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal\">consejo cient\u00edfico <\/I>(planifica la estrategia cient\u00edfica, establece el programa<I style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal\"> <\/I>de trabajo, controla la calidad y lleva a cabo actividades<I style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal\"> <\/I>informativas) y una <I style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal\">agencia de ejecuci\u00f3n<\/I> (administraci\u00f3n,<I style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal\"> <\/I>apoyo a los solicitantes, elegibilidad de la propuesta, gesti\u00f3n de<I style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal\"> <\/I>subvenciones y organizaci\u00f3n pr\u00e1ctica).<I style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal\"><?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = \"urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office\" \/><o:p><\/o:p><\/I><\/P><P class=MsoNormal style=\"MARGIN: 0cm 0cm 0pt; TEXT-ALIGN: justify\"><o:p>&nbsp;<\/o:p><\/P><P class=MsoNormal style=\"MARGIN: 0cm 0cm 0pt; TEXT-ALIGN: justify\">Dentro del programa se considera de especial inter\u00e9s la investigaci\u00f3n en los <B style=\"mso-bidi-font-weight: normal\">campos emergentes y de r\u00e1pido crecimiento en las fronteras del conocimiento<\/B> y a la <B style=\"mso-bidi-font-weight: normal\">investigaci\u00f3n interdisciplinar<\/B>. A diferencia del p<SPAN style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: italic\">rograma \u201c<A href=\"http:\/\/cordis.europa.eu\/fp7\/cooperation\/home_en.html\">Cooperaci\u00f3n<\/A>\u201d<\/SPAN>, no se contempla la obligaci\u00f3n de crear asociaciones transfronterizas. Asimismo, se seguir\u00e1 un <B style=\"mso-bidi-font-weight: normal\">enfoque \u00abimpulsado por los investigadores<\/B>\u00bb &#8211; esto significa que el programa apoyar\u00e1 proyectos realizados por investigadores sobre temas elegidos por ellos dentro del marco fijado por las convocatorias de propuestas. Las propuestas se evaluar\u00e1n \u00fanicamente a partir del criterio de <B style=\"mso-bidi-font-weight: normal\">excelencia<\/B>, prestando especial atenci\u00f3n a aquellas propuestas que presenten un marcado car\u00e1cter pionero y lleven aparejado un <B style=\"mso-bidi-font-weight: normal\">riesgo cient\u00edfico elevado<\/B>. <\/P><P class=MsoNormal style=\"MARGIN: 0cm 0cm 0pt; TEXT-ALIGN: justify\"><o:p>&nbsp;<\/o:p><\/P><P class=MsoNormal style=\"MARGIN: 0cm 0cm 0pt; TEXT-ALIGN: justify\">La convocatoria lanzada el pasado 22 de diciembre se refiere a las llamadas \u201c<B style=\"mso-bidi-font-weight: normal\"><A href=\"http:\/\/cordis.europa.eu\/fp7\/dc\/index.cfm?fuseaction=UserSite.IdeasDetailsCallPage&amp;call_id=3\"><EM>ERC Starting <FONT color=#000000>Independent Researcher Grant<\/FONT><\/EM><\/A><\/B>\u201d, destinadas a nuevos grupos de investigaci\u00f3n. Debe recordarse que el programa prestar\u00e1 apoyo a proyectos realizados por <B style=\"mso-bidi-font-weight: normal\">equipos \u00fanicos<\/B> que podr\u00e1n ser nacionales o transnacionales. Un equipo \u00fanico consiste en un investigador principal y, cuando proceda, otras personas, que son los componentes del equipo &#8211; seg\u00fan las normas de participaci\u00f3n, no se excluye la participaci\u00f3n de m\u00e1s de una entidad jur\u00eddica, pero, teniendo siempre en cuenta que no se trata de crear un consorcio, sino un equipo de investigaci\u00f3n.<\/P><P class=MsoNormal style=\"MARGIN: 0cm 0cm 0pt; TEXT-ALIGN: justify\"><o:p>&nbsp;<\/o:p><\/P><P class=MsoNormal style=\"MARGIN: 0cm 0cm 0pt; TEXT-ALIGN: justify\">Si os interesa la <A href=\"http:\/\/cordis.europa.eu\/fp7\/dc\/index.cfm?fuseaction=UserSite.IdeasDetailsCallPage&amp;call_id=3\">convocatoria<\/A> los documentos a consultar son: el texto completo de la convocatoria de propuestas, el programa de trabajo de 2007, y la gu\u00eda para el proponente, publicada ayer. A revised version of the work programme is now in the process of being formally adopted by the Commission, which is reflecting this Scientific Council decision. Thus, with the formal adoption and publication of the revised work programme, the requirements for the Principal Investigator should read as follows:<o:p><\/o:p><\/SPAN><\/P><P class=body style=\"MARGIN: auto 0cm; TEXT-ALIGN: justify\"><EM><SPAN lang=EN-GB style=\"COLOR: blue; mso-ansi-language: EN-GB\">The Principal Investigator must have been awarded his\/her first PhD (or equivalent doctoral degree) <\/SPAN><\/EM><STRONG><I><SPAN lang=EN-GB style=\"COLOR: blue; mso-ansi-language: EN-GB\">more than 2 and less than 9 years<\/SPAN><\/I><\/STRONG><EM><SPAN lang=EN-GB style=\"COLOR: blue; mso-ansi-language: EN-GB\"> prior to the deadline of the call for proposals.<\/SPAN><\/EM><I><SPAN lang=EN-GB style=\"COLOR: blue; mso-ansi-language: EN-GB\"> <EM>Extensions of this period may be allowed in case of eligible career breaks which must be properly documented: <\/EM><STRONG>maternity (1 year per child born after the PhD award) &amp; paternity leave (accumulation of actual time off) and leave taken for long-term illness, national service. Leave taken for unavoidable statutory reasons (e.g. clinical qualifications) may also count as an extension.<\/STRONG><EM><o:p><\/o:p><\/EM><\/SPAN><\/I><\/P><P class=body style=\"MARGIN: auto 0cm; TEXT-ALIGN: justify\"><EM><SPAN lang=EN-GB style=\"COLOR: blue; mso-ansi-language: EN-GB\">The cumulative eligibility period should <\/SPAN><\/EM><STRONG><I><SPAN lang=EN-GB style=\"COLOR: blue; mso-ansi-language: EN-GB\">not in any case surpass 12 years<\/SPAN><\/I><\/STRONG><EM><SPAN lang=EN-GB style=\"COLOR: blue; mso-ansi-language: EN-GB\"> following the award of the first PhD.
