El matemático John Ball, de la Universidad de Oxford, ha sido elegido para formar parte del Comité Ejecutivo del Consejo Internacional de la Ciencia, ICSU. Ayer, 30 de septiembre, John Ball fue elegido en la Asamblea General de ICSU que se acaba de clausura en Roma como vocal por parte de las naciones para formar parte del Comité Ejecutivo de IMU. Es una excelente noticia para la comunidad matemática ya que permitirá una mayor sensibilidad y conocimiento del mundo matemático por parte de una organización científica tan relevante como ICSU.
