Digamos de entrada que Friedrich D\u00fcrrenmatt fue pintor y escritor, nacido en Konolfingen, en el Cant\u00f3n de Berna, el 5 de enero de 1921, y escribi\u00f3 siempre en alem\u00e1n. Falleci\u00f3 en Neuch\u00e2tel, el 14 de diciembre de 1990, tras una vida en la que destac\u00f3 sobre todo por sus obras de teatro.
