Now what are the particles made out of? They&#8217;re not made out of anything. The only thing you can say about the reality of an electron is to cite its mathematical properties. Su columna mensual Juegos matem\u00e1ticos, publicada en Scientific American durante 30 a\u00f1os, le granje\u00f3 la popularidad internacional. Gardner no era de formaci\u00f3n matem\u00e1tica, y \u00e9l mismo confesaba que al tener que escribir sobre un tema matem\u00e1tico, le obligaba a trabajarlo hasta entenderlo, y as\u00ed consegu\u00eda que sus escritos fueran accesibles para el ciudadano medio. Gardner fue tambi\u00e9n un luchador tenaz contra las seudociencias y las supersticiones. Y a la vez un aficionado a la magia, colectivo que le dispens\u00f3 muchos honores.
