Hasta ahora todos los materiales que compet\u00edan con el diamante en dureza se fabricaban a altas presiones y temperaturas. Este Nuevo Material se obtiene por mezcla estequiom\u00e9trica del Boro y el Rhenio por la que se hace pasar una corriente el\u00e9ctrica (sinterizaci\u00f3n por resistencia). <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = \"urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office\" \/><o:p><\/o:p><\/SPAN><\/P><P class=MsoNormal style=\"MARGIN: 6pt 0cm; TEXT-ALIGN: justify; mso-margin-top-alt: auto\"><SPAN style=\"FONT-SIZE: 9.5pt; COLOR: #333333; FONT-FAMILY: 'Arial','sans-serif'; mso-fareast-font-family: 'Times New Roman'; mso-fareast-language: ES\">En el dise\u00f1o del material se consider\u00f3 el porqu\u00e9 una substancia es dura. Los metales que se comprimen con dificultad es porque sus \u00e1tomos llevan densos recubrimientos de electrones que repelen a los \u00e1tomos vecinos, pese a que esto tambi\u00e9n implica que se puedan doblar. Por otro lado, los \u00e1tomos de cristales r\u00edgidos, como el diamante, tienen enlaces direccionados y r\u00edgidos en direcciones fijas, que implican una gran resistencia a ser deformados. Los creadores de este nuevo material (Tolbert y colaboradores) han combinado Rhenio (metal dif\u00edcil de comprimir con Boro, capaz de formar enlaces direccionados fuertes).<o:p><\/o:p><\/SPAN><\/P><P class=MsoNormal style=\"MARGIN: 6pt 0cm;
