No podemos hablar ya de <b style=\"\"><span style=\"color: rgb(51, 102, 255);\">brecha digital, sino de abismo<\/span><\/b>. Muchas universidades de este \u00faltimo pa\u00eds ofrecen sus clases magistrales en <b style=\"\"><span style=\"color: rgb(51, 102, 255);\">video <\/span><\/b>y otro material docente en <b style=\"\"><span style=\"color: rgb(51, 102, 255);\">acceso abierto<\/span><\/b>. No se trata de \u201ccursitos\u201d de una semana, sino de todo tipo de ofertas, y mayoritariamente de \u201cOpen Access\u201d, es decir sin costes pecuniarios. <b style=\"\"><span style=\"color: rgb(51, 102, 255);\">Otra cuesti\u00f3n bien distinta es que, en algunos casos,<\/span><\/b> los estudiantes que desean el t\u00edtulo y las tutor\u00edas, paguen una cuota monetaria variable. <b style=\"\"><span style=\"color: rgb(51, 102, 255);\">Sin embargo, la informaci\u00f3n es gratuita.<\/span><\/b> No obstante, recordemos el lema del software libre: \u201clibre no tiene por que significar gratis\u201d. Por mucho que intentado en mi pa\u00eds que algunos colegas se lancen a esta aventura con sus <b style=\"\"><span style=\"color: rgb(51, 102, 255);\">cursos de postgrado y masters<\/span><\/b>, he pinchado en hueso. Al menos <b style=\"\"><span style=\"color: rgb(51, 102, 255);\">en Espa\u00f1a, los nuevos planes de estudio denostan la edafolog\u00eda<\/span><\/b> hasta l\u00edmites indignantes. Bajo la amenaza de extinci\u00f3n, <b style=\"\"><span style=\"color: rgb(51, 102, 255);\">deb\u00edamos estar luchando a muerte por salir del pozo<\/span><\/b> ante una clase pol\u00edtica que desprecia nuestros conocimientos. Lamentablemente, la apat\u00eda y el conformismo reinan por doquier (salvo honrosas excepciones, como siempre). <b style=\"\"><span style=\"color: rgb(51, 102, 255);\">Unirse <\/span><\/b>entre varios departamentos de <b style=\"\"><span style=\"color: rgb(51, 102, 255);\">distintas universidades para ofrecer cursos de postgrado y master en acceso abierto es una oportunidad que no podemos ni debemos desperdiciar<\/span><\/b>. Puedo aseguraros que <b style=\"\"><span style=\"color: rgb(51, 102, 255);\">la demanda de informaci\u00f3n en Internet en materia de suelos es muy elevada<\/span><\/b>, como constatamos a diario en este blog. Del mismo modo, una sociedad que demanda una <b style=\"\"><span style=\"color: rgb(51, 102, 255);\">formaci\u00f3n continuada<\/span><\/b> (es decir, que incluye a trabajadores dispersos por todo el mundo a lo largo de su ciclo laboral) <b style=\"\"><span style=\"color: rgb(51, 102, 255);\">reclama a gritos que no vacilemos m\u00e1s<\/span><\/b>, ni nos comportemos como <b style=\"\"><span style=\"color: rgb(51, 102, 255);\">paletos digitales<\/span><\/b>. Pero como se dir\u00eda en M\u00e9xico, \u201c<i style=\"\">ni modo<\/i>\u201d.<o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 10pt; font-family: &quot;Comic Sans MS&quot;;\"><o:p>&nbsp;<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b style=\"\"><span style=\"font-size: 10pt; font-family: &quot;Comic Sans MS&quot;; color: rgb(51, 102, 255);\">La noticia que os ofrezco abajo<\/span><\/b><span style=\"font-size: 10pt; font-family: &quot;Comic Sans MS&quot;;\">, es un mero <b style=\"\"><span style=\"color: rgb(51, 102, 255);\">ejemplo extra\u00eddo de la p\u00e1gina Web<\/span><\/b> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.capitalpress.info\/main.asp?SectionID=67&amp;SubSectionID=782&amp;ArticleID=50971&amp;TM=52445.93\">Capital Press<\/a>. En ella, se informa del <b style=\"\"><span style=\"color: rgb(51, 102, 255);\">inter\u00e9s creciente por el p\u00fablico por los <\/span><span style=\"color: green;\">cursos sobre agricultura org\u00e1nica<\/span><\/b>, aunque otros versan sobre <b style=\"\"><span style=\"color: green;\">fertilidad de suelos<\/span><\/b>. Tales iniciativas docentes pueden ser <b style=\"\"><span style=\"color: rgb(51, 102, 255);\">atendidas por estudiantes de todo el mundo sin tener que desplazarse<\/span><\/b> de sus territorios o lugares de trabajo. M\u00e1s aun, reitero que nada impide que se <b style=\"\"><span style=\"color: rgb(51, 102, 255);\">ofrezcan tales docencias por profesores de Latinoam\u00e9rica y Espa\u00f1a en iniciativas conjuntas<\/span><\/b>. <b style=\"\"><span style=\"color: rgb(51, 102, 255);\">La UE ofrece tambi\u00e9n financiaci\u00f3n para tales fines<\/span><\/b>. <o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 10pt; font-family: &quot;Comic Sans MS&quot;;\"><o:p>&nbsp;<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 10pt; font-family: &quot;Comic Sans MS&quot;;\">La <a href=\"http:\/\/www.uoc.es\/portal\/catala\/index2.html\">\u201cUniversidad Oberta de Catalunya<\/a>\u201d (UOC, en Espa\u00f1a), ha mostrado ser una iniciativa encomiable. Registration opened April 13 for the next series of courses in the program.<o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 9pt; font-family: Arial;\" lang=\"EN-GB\"><br \/> <b style=\"\"><span style=\"color: rgb(51, 102, 255);\">Soils 101, a course for organic gardening and farming<\/span><\/b>, will be offered again this summer. Soils 201 will be offered online for the first time in the fall. <b style=\"\"><span style=\"color: green;\">The newest course is \u00abSoil: A Living System<\/span><span style=\"color: rgb(51, 102, 255);\">.\u00bb<\/span><\/b>. John Reganold, regents professor of soil science for the university, recently took over as director of the certificate program. He also heads the school&#8217;s organic agriculture major program, created in 2006. The<b style=\"\"><span style=\"color: rgb(51, 102, 255);\"> 18-credit <\/span><span style=\"color: green;\">organic agriculture program<\/span><span style=\"color: rgb(51, 102, 255);\">, which is completely online<\/span><\/b>, has been available for about six months, Reganold said. <b style=\"\"><span style=\"color: rgb(51, 102, 255);\">\u00abFor most folks, it will probably take three years to complete it<\/span><\/b>,\u00bb he said. <b style=\"\"><span style=\"color: rgb(51, 102, 255);\">\u00abThese are people who have full-time jobs.\u00bb. <\/span><\/b>The courses are available during a specific time in the semester, <b style=\"\"><span style=\"color: rgb(51, 102, 255);\">due to the high demand from people wanting to learn about organic farming, gardening or the marketing aspects of the industry. <\/span><\/b>It&#8217;s one of the few programs in organic agriculture online or on campus in the <\/span><st1:country-region><st1:place><span style=\"font-size: 9pt; font-family: Arial;\" lang=\"EN-GB\">United   States<\/span><\/st1:place><\/st1:country-region><span style=\"font-size: 9pt; font-family: Arial;\" lang=\"EN-GB\">, <\/span><st1:place><span style=\"font-size: 9pt; font-family: Arial;\" lang=\"EN-GB\">Kendall<\/span><\/st1:place><span style=\"font-size: 9pt; font-family: Arial;\" lang=\"EN-GB\"> said.<o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 9pt; font-family: Arial;\" lang=\"EN-GB\"><br \/> <b style=\"\"><span style=\"color: rgb(51, 102, 255);\">It&#8217;s not certain how many people are signed up for the courses, Reganold said, as people can register as non-degree-taking students<\/span><\/b>.
