A toda la clase cient\u00edfica afanada en <a href=\"http:\/\/es.wikiquote.org\/wiki\/Sigmund_Freud\">desprestigiar el psicoan\u00e1lisis<\/a> se le olvida que, por aquello tiempos, y en nombre de la ciencia, se expend\u00eda todo tipo de productos que hoy llevar\u00edan a la c\u00e1rcel a quien osara hacerlo. Eso s\u00ed, se lo inyectaba en vena, cuesti\u00f3n que debo suponer \u201cvisto el mercado de la \u00e9poca\u201d que a muchos de sus colegas no les extra\u00f1ar\u00eda en absoluto. Pobre <a href=\"http:\/\/es.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Sigmund_Freud\">Freud<\/a>. En el nombre de la ciencia, la farmaindustria nos ha sugerido ingerir todo tipo de compuestos, muchos de ellos t\u00f3xicos. En el nombre de la ciencia, un m\u00e9dico te receta uno concreto que, muy a menudo, es retirado despu\u00e9s del mercado debido a sus acusadas contraindicaciones y \u201cefectos secundarios\u201d. Tampoco son casos singulares la venta de f\u00e1rmacos que una vez han perdido su inter\u00e9s (debido a su ineficacia), vuelven a salir al mercado a bombo y platillo, asegur\u00e1ndose que curan otra enfermedad que con anterioridad no era incluida en los prospectos. Dicho esto, uno no logra entender la burla de ciertos investigadores contra las p\u00f3cimas de curanderos y remedios caseros. Este servidor no muri\u00f3 por uno de estos productos gracias a que su hermana (la administradora del blog \u201c<a href=\"..\/..\/salud_publica\">Salud P\u00fablica y Algo M\u00e1s<\/a>\u201d) tan solo le dio la mitad de la dosis indicada por el Sr. Doctor. De milagro puedo contarlo. Por tanto, no hablo de \u201co\u00eddas\u201d. Las im\u00e1genes que os vamos a ofrecer hoy, de productos que se expend\u00edan en boticas y comercios a finales del siglo XIX y principios del XX, son propias de los bocetos propagand\u00edsticos que ofrecer\u00edan al p\u00fablico los narcotraficantes m\u00e1s peligrosos. Reiteremos que en este blog se ama a la ciencia. Debido a que se me advirti\u00f3 que pod\u00eda romperse en cualquier momento, as\u00ed como que hab\u00eda que <b style=\"\"><span style=\"color: rgb(51, 102, 255);\">asegurarse que tal quiste\/tumor no fuera maligno<\/span><\/b> me dirig\u00ed a la <b style=\"\"><span style=\"color: rgb(51, 102, 255);\">Seguridad Social<\/span><\/b>. En vista que tardar\u00edan seis meses, como m\u00ednimo, en encontrar hueco para la <b style=\"\"><span style=\"color: rgb(51, 102, 255);\">operaci\u00f3n quir\u00fargica<\/span><\/b>, busque una alternativa en la sanidad privada, muy a mi pesar. Se me advirti\u00f3 que el \u201cbultito\u201d<b style=\"\"><span style=\"color: rgb(51, 102, 255);\"> rodeaba a la rama dental del trig\u00e9mino<\/span><\/b>, por lo que <b style=\"\"><span style=\"color: rgb(51, 102, 255);\">posiblemente quedara da\u00f1ada<\/span><\/b>. Y as\u00ed fue. Lo que nadie me coment\u00f3 es que anta\u00f1o era denominado \u201c<b style=\"\"><span style=\"color: rgb(51, 102, 255);\">el nervio de los locos<\/span><\/b>\u201d, por cuanto de lesionarse los <b style=\"\"><span style=\"color: rgb(51, 102, 255);\">dolores son insoportables<\/span><\/b>. Me dirig\u00ed pues a mi <b style=\"\"><span style=\"color: rgb(51, 102, 255);\">m\u00e9dico de cabecera, <\/span><\/b>que me<b style=\"\"><span style=\"color: rgb(51, 102, 255);\"> expidi\u00f3 una receta para calmar aquel sufrimiento indecible <\/span><\/b>(perd\u00ed casi 15 kilos de peso en dos semanas).<span style=\"\">&nbsp; <\/span>El matasanos, <b style=\"\"><span style=\"color: rgb(51, 102, 255);\">no quiso recetarme morfina y la sustituy\u00f3 por un f\u00e1rmaco de s\u00edntesis recomendado principalmente para la epilepsia,<\/span><\/b> a pesar de ser advertido de que <b style=\"\"><span style=\"color: rgb(51, 102, 255);\">mi cuerpo reacciona mal ante bastantes medicamentos<\/span><\/b>. Se trataba del <a href=\"http:\/\/www.facmed.unam.mx\/bmnd\/plm_2k8\/src\/prods\/39413.htm\">Tegretol<\/a> (que por cierto genera retraso mental a las criaturas cuyas madres lo injirieron durante la gestaci\u00f3n, ver el enlace; a pesar de lo cual sigue en el marcado). \u00bfPor qu\u00e9? La <b style=\"\"><span style=\"color: rgb(51, 102, 255);\">lista de efectos secundarios era impresionante<\/span><\/b>. <b style=\"\"><span style=\"color: rgb(51, 102, 255);\">De acuerdo a la Dra. Ib\u00e1\u00f1ez los sufr\u00ed todos<\/span><\/b>. Me erradic\u00f3 el dolor eso es cierto. Sin embargo, a partir de ah\u00ed <b style=\"\"><span style=\"color: rgb(51, 102, 255);\">lo sucedido fue inenarrable<\/span><\/b>.<b style=\"\"><span style=\"color: rgb(51, 102, 255);\"> Nadie sab\u00eda si podr\u00eda fallecer o no, a pesar de que mi hermana fue precavida y solo me dio \u201cla mitad de dosis indicada\u201d<\/span><\/b>. Afortunadamente, cuando de seguir el curso de los acontecimientos <b style=\"\"><span style=\"color: rgb(51, 102, 255);\">no me quedaban m\u00e1s que horas de vida, su encantador efecto \u201ct\u00f3xico\u201d comenz\u00f3 a reducirse<\/span><\/b>. A veces, los vuelve a sacar al mercado con otros \u201cobjetivos\u201d. Pero a lo que vamos,<b style=\"\"><span style=\"color: rgb(51, 102, 255);\"> tanto si uno lee<\/span><\/b> la afamada revista <a href=\"http:\/\/www.plosone.org\/home.action\">PlosOne<\/a>, como si se documenta a partir del libro \u201cLa <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ed-critica.es\/libro\/anatomia-del-fraude-cientifico-978848432732\">Anatom\u00eda del Fraude Cient\u00edfico<\/a>\u201d, se percatar\u00e1 como una buena parte de la<b style=\"\"><span style=\"color: rgb(51, 102, 255);\"> enorme cantidad de informes de estas compa\u00f1\u00edas<\/span><\/b>, \u201cque velan por nuestra salud\u201d <b style=\"\"><span style=\"color: rgb(51, 102, 255);\">falsean los resultados de uno y otro modo<\/span><\/b>.<span style=\"\">&nbsp; <\/span>Casi todos los ciudadanos conocen la <b style=\"\"><span style=\"color: rgb(51, 102, 255);\">mala prensa de estas multinacionales, que son demandadas tropecientas veces al a\u00f1o<\/span><\/b>, saliendo generalmente airosas de tales envites, gracias a que sus<b style=\"\"><span style=\"color: rgb(51, 102, 255);\"> ej\u00e9rcitos de abogados sin escr\u00fapulos<\/span><\/b> deben llevarse un buen porcentaje de los impensables beneficios que nos secuestras. Toman sus b\u00e1rtulos, compra un peri\u00f3dico y ya tumbado en la arena lo abre y lee:<span style=\"\">&nbsp; <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.sciencedaily.com\/releases\/2009\/08\/090804193230.htm\">Popular Insect Repellent Deet Is Neurotoxic<\/a> o en su pedestre versi\u00f3n espa\u00f1ola: \u201c<a href=\"http:\/\/www.publico.es\/ciencias\/242684\/repelente\/mosquitos\/toxico\/nervios\">El Repelente Contra Mosquitos es T\u00f3xico para los Nervios<\/a>\u201d (vamos que le pone a uno de los \u201cnervios\u201d; pues no, se trata de algo m\u00e1s grave, contiene<b style=\"\"><span style=\"color: rgb(51, 102, 255);\"> neurotoxinas<\/span><\/b>). Y cuando sus hijos le solicitan agua se encuentra at\u00f3nito al contemplar la noticia \u00bf<a href=\"..\/..\/remtavares\/archive\/2009\/08\/11\/122962.aspx\">Es segura el agua embotellada<\/a>? (por favor lea el contenido pinchando el enlace, ya que ese oro azul puede contener de todo). Pero<b style=\"\"><span style=\"color: rgb(51, 102, 255);\"> si lo que le interesa la gripe cochina ahora nos informan de que<\/span><\/b> \u201c<a href=\"http:\/\/www.physorg.com\/news169111819.html\">Tamiflu should not be given to children with flu: study<\/a>\u201d (un poco tarde para algunas criaturas). \u00a1Tremendo!.<o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 10pt; font-family: &quot;Comic Sans MS&quot;;\"><o:p>&nbsp;<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 10pt; font-family: &quot;Comic Sans MS&quot;;\">Como hemos se\u00f1alado en abundantes ocasiones, la verdad cient\u00edfica de hoy en d\u00eda, puede (y suele) ser mentira en un futuro m\u00e1s o menos lejano.<span style=\"\">&nbsp; <\/span>De no ser as\u00ed el progreso cient\u00edfico no existir\u00eda. Ahora bien, <b style=\"\"><span style=\"color: rgb(51, 102, 255);\">la mercantilizaci\u00f3n de la ciencia genera <\/span><\/b>tambi\u00e9n<b style=\"\"><span style=\"color: rgb(51, 102, 255);\"> enormes sufrimientos<\/span><\/b>.
