Si estas \u00faltimas pueden considerarse la mecha, una buena parte de las v\u00edctimas parecen proceder de este tipo de episodios erosivos violentos. Se trata de lo que denominamos <a href=\"http:\/\/weblogs.madrimasd.org\/universo\/archive\/2008\/09\/19\/101307.aspx\">edafolog\u00eda de los desastres naturales<\/a>. Sobre el concepto y descripci\u00f3n de este tipo de erosi\u00f3n del suelo ya lo abordamos en <a href=\"http:\/\/weblogs.madrimasd.org\/universo\/archive\/2008\/06\/20\/95171.aspx\">este<\/a> y <a href=\"http:\/\/weblogs.madrimasd.org\/universo\/archive\/2008\/06\/20\/95172.aspx\">este<\/a> post, entre otros. Una evidencia palmaria de los dramas que se generan ha aparecido hoy mismo en la prensa, como por ejemplo aqu\u00ed: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.terradaily.com\/reports\/Taiwan_scrambles_to_rescue_1000_from_landslide_villages_999.html\">Taiwan scrambles to rescue 1,000 from landslide villages<\/a>. Tambi\u00e9n os reproducimos abajo otra en espa\u00f1ol castellano del rotativo el Confidencial.com, un poco m\u00e1s antigua que no contabilizan todas las v\u00edctimas que en los momentos de escribir este post son aun desconocidas (\u201c<a href=\"http:\/\/www.elconfidencial.com\/cache\/2009\/08\/14\/mundo_82_tifon_morakot_muertos_miles_incomunicados_taiwan.html\">El tif\u00f3n &#8216;Morakot&#8217; deja 500 muertos y miles de incomunicados en Taiw\u00e1n<\/a>\u201c)<span style=\"\">&nbsp; <\/span>Abajo os exponemos el horror de la nota de prensa que ha ofrecido Terradaily el d\u00eda 14 de agosto de 2009 a causa del paso por <b style=\"\"><span style=\"color: rgb(51, 102, 255);\">Taiw\u00e1n<\/span><\/b> del <b style=\"\"><span style=\"color: rgb(51, 102, 255);\">Tif\u00f3n Morakot<\/span><\/b>. Pero a lo que vamos: \u00bfcuantas toneladas de suelo han sido erosionadas por este \u00fanico evento? y \u00bfCu\u00e1nto suelo se pierde al a\u00f1o contando todos los episodios conocidos? Tal tipo de estimaciones brilla por su ausencia. Sorprende que si se disponga de metodolog\u00edas (mejores o peores) con vistas a cuantificar la erosi\u00f3n laminar y en surcos, pero no para los episodios m\u00e1s violentos como los que aqu\u00ed presentamos, como ocurre tambi\u00e9n con otros tipos de p\u00e9rdida de suelos. Hacer equiparar las primeras estimas con las globales no deja de ser m\u00e1s que un disparate. Dicho de otro modo, los datos de p\u00e9rdida de suelo a nivel global que aparecen en los libros y prensa especializada son una gloriosa y lamentable subvaloraci\u00f3n de los que realmente deben producirse anualmente en el mundo. Feelings were running high at a school outside the disaster zone where relatives of the missing had gathered. Police and soldiers had to push back some who tried to storm their way on to helicopters heading to the zone. \u00abI cannot wait any more. I want to look for my family,\u00bb a man in his 40s shouted as he argued with soldiers. In central Chiayi county, some 500 people remained without water and electricity in several villages around <\/span><st1:place><st1:placetype><span style=\"font-size: 9pt; font-family: Arial;\" lang=\"EN-GB\">Mount<\/span><\/st1:placetype><span style=\"font-size: 9pt; font-family: Arial;\" lang=\"EN-GB\"> <\/span><st1:placename><span style=\"font-size: 9pt; font-family: Arial;\" lang=\"EN-GB\">Ali<\/span><\/st1:placename><\/st1:place><span style=\"font-size: 9pt; font-family: Arial;\" lang=\"EN-GB\">, a popular tourist attraction. En las aldeas de Taoyuan y Namahsia, tambi\u00e9n del distrito de Kaohsiung, hay unas 1.500 personas incomunicadas, en espera de ser evacuadas.<o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 9pt; font-family: Arial;\"><br \/> <b style=\"\"><span style=\"color: green;\">Dos lagos, creados al obstruirse el r\u00edo Laonong debido a los desplazamientos de tierra, se desbordaron<\/span><\/b><span style=\"color: green;\"> <\/span>junto a la aldea de Taoyuan sin causar v\u00edctimas mortales pues los residentes hab\u00edan sido advertidos y se pusieron a salvo en lugares altos. Adem\u00e1s, <b style=\"\"><span style=\"color: rgb(51, 102, 255);\">un almac\u00e9n con ocho toneladas de explosivos fue barrido por las aguas procedentes de los lagos, con el consiguiente peligro para los equipos de salvamento que buscan cuerpos en los arroyos<\/span><\/b>. Los incomunicados en Likuei, comarca de Sinfa, siguen en espera de ayuda, tras informar por medio de un cartel que hab\u00edan encontrado 39 muertos. Tras romperse el puente, los equipos de rescate no han logrado a\u00fan cruzar sobre las crecidas aguas del r\u00edo.<o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 9pt; font-family: Arial;\"><br \/> En el distrito sure\u00f1o de Chiayi, unas 10.200 personas est\u00e1n incomunicadas en varias aldeas as\u00ed como en la monta\u00f1a Ali y en el municipio sudoriental de Taitung hay otras 16.000 personas aisladas, seg\u00fan los datos de los gobiernos locales. Los equipos de rescate evacuaron a unas 2.200 personas el jueves, seg\u00fan informes militares, y contin\u00faan su labor contra reloj para evitar el mayor n\u00famero de v\u00edctimas y desinfectar las zonas afectadas. <b style=\"\"><span style=\"color: rgb(51, 102, 255);\">Quedan a\u00fan 73 carreteras cortadas<\/span><\/b> en la isla, seg\u00fan indic\u00f3 el Ministerio de Transporte, y 1.282 escuelas resultaron da\u00f1adas, seg\u00fan losa datos del departamento de Educaci\u00f3n.
