All\u00e1 por la d\u00e9cada de los 90 del siglo pasado particip\u00e9 (o m\u00e1s bien asist\u00ed) en algunas pol\u00e9micas referentes a las edades de las superficies geomorfol\u00f3gicas de tipo Ra\u00f1a (de las m\u00e1s antiguas de Europa). No hab\u00eda manera de alcanzar un consenso acerca de si unas pliocenas (final del Ne\u00f3geno) y otras Pleistocenas (cuaternario) o si (\u2026\u2026). Asunto arreglado. Tras esta nueva revisi\u00f3n de los l\u00edmites cuaternarios se cerr\u00f3 la controversia. \u00a1Todas son Cuaternarias! As\u00ed a veces terminan los debates cient\u00edficos, por decreto ley. Y es que resulta que se ha adelantado su inicio, nada m\u00e1s y nada menos, que 800.000 a\u00f1os. En 1983 la Comisi\u00f3n Internacional de Estratigraf\u00eda decidi\u00f3 situar tal hito hace 1.800.000 a\u00f1os. Hace unos d\u00edas este retrocedi\u00f3 a los 2.600.000 a\u00f1os. \u00a1Bastante m\u00e1s viejecita! \u00a1la arruga es bella!. Las razones parecen ser bastante convincentes. Sin embargo, con tanto estudio a cerca del cambio clim\u00e1tico, yo no apostar\u00eda a que investigaciones futuras nos informen de que comenz\u00f3 antes, m\u00e1s que despu\u00e9s. Ya hay material para revolver todo el patio y cambiar, una vez m\u00e1s, los libros escolares y universitarios de ciencias naturales. Uno no sabe si pensar que nos enfrentamos a una confabulaci\u00f3n de las editoriales implicadas en tales monograf\u00edas.
