Podemos afirmar que tales an\u00e1lisis conciernen tanto a la <A href=\"http:\/\/weblogs.madrimasd.org\/universo\/archive\/2006\/11\/10\/50343.aspx\">geograf\u00eda de suelos<\/a> como a la <A href=\"http:\/\/weblogs.madrimasd.org\/universo\/archive\/2006\/11\/03\/49316.aspx\">megaedafolog\u00eda<\/a>. Existen numerosas v\u00edas o perspectivas con vistas a alcanzar tales prop\u00f3sitos. Antes de mostrar nuestros propios resultados y desarrollos metodol\u00f3gicos, analizaremos los usados por otros autores. Y comenzaremos con <span style=\"COLOR: blue\">el \u00faltimo mapa de las regiones de suelos del mundo que el NRCS<\/span>, organismo que incluye a la <span style=\"COLOR: blue\">USDA<\/span>, present\u00f3 al congreso mundial de suelos de Filadelfia (Julio 2006). Veamos tanto la metodolog\u00eda, como el producto con sus bondades y debilidades.<\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\"><span style=\"FONT-SIZE: 10pt; FONT-FAMILY: 'Comic Sans MS'; mso-ansi-language: ES; mso-fareast-font-family: 'Times New Roman'; mso-fareast-language: ES; mso-bidi-font-family: 'Times New Roman'; mso-bidi-language: AR-SA\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/blogs\/universo\/wp-content\/blogs.dir\/42\/files\/370\/o_header_nrcs.gif\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"MARGIN: 0cm 0cm 0pt; TEXT-ALIGN: justify\"><span style=\"FONT-SIZE: 10pt; FONT-FAMILY: 'Comic Sans MS'\">El mapa fue elaborado por los estadounidenses <span style=\"COLOR: blue\">Paul Reich<\/span> y <span style=\"COLOR: blue\">Hari Eswaran<\/span>, con la colaboraci\u00f3n de <span style=\"COLOR: blue\">Friedrich Beinroth<\/span>. Su escala original es 1:5.000.000 y la unidad taxon\u00f3mica escogida fue la de los sub\u00f3rdenes. Como pod\u00e9is ver m\u00e1s abajo, se trata de una actualizaci\u00f3n de otro mapa anterior de 1999, tras los cambios incluidos en la \u00faltima versi\u00f3n de la taxonom\u00eda mentada. Hemos modificado la edici\u00f3n (sin tocar el contenido), con vistas a resaltar tambi\u00e9n los datos por \u00f3rdenes de suelos, que acompa\u00f1an a la tabla de sub\u00f3rdenes. <o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"MARGIN: 0cm 0cm 0pt; TEXT-ALIGN: justify\"><span style=\"FONT-SIZE: 10pt; FONT-FAMILY: 'Comic Sans MS'\"><o:p>&nbsp;<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"MARGIN: 0cm 0cm 0pt; TEXT-ALIGN: justify\"><span style=\"FONT-SIZE: 10pt; FONT-FAMILY: 'Comic Sans MS'\">De acuerdo a los autores (ver res\u00famenes en anglosaj\u00f3n abajo) las principales modificaciones fueron generadas al crearse el suborden <span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes\">&nbsp;<\/span><span style=\"COLOR: blue\">Gelepts<\/span><span style=\"COLOR: #333300\">. Los suelos que ocupan una mayor extensi\u00f3n ser\u00edan los<\/span><span style=\"COLOR: blue\"> Inceptisoles<\/span><span style=\"COLOR: #333300\"> (suelos con un horizonte B c\u00e1mbico) y los<\/span><span style=\"COLOR: blue\"> Entisoles<\/span><span style=\"COLOR: #333300\"> (suelos j\u00f3venes sin a penas desarrollo edafogen\u00e9tico). Sin embargo, <\/span><span style=\"FONT-SIZE: 10pt; COLOR: blue; FONT-FAMILY: 'Comic Sans MS'\">la metodolog\u00eda usada<\/span><span style=\"FONT-SIZE: 10pt; COLOR: #333300; FONT-FAMILY: 'Comic Sans MS'\"> por los autores nos <\/span><span style=\"FONT-SIZE: 10pt; COLOR: blue; FONT-FAMILY: 'Comic Sans MS'\">parece un poco \u201c<i style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal\">naive<\/i>\u201d o ingenua<\/span><span style=\"FONT-SIZE: 10pt; COLOR: #333300; FONT-FAMILY: 'Comic Sans MS'\">. Al contemplar tan solo el suborden dominante, se pierde una gran cantidad de informaci\u00f3n, e impide analizar las principales asociaciones de suelos. Como iremos viendo en otros post, <\/span><span style=\"FONT-SIZE: 10pt; COLOR: blue; FONT-FAMILY: 'Comic Sans MS'\">la metodolog\u00eda que personalmente desarrolle<\/span><span style=\"FONT-SIZE: 10pt; COLOR: #333300; FONT-FAMILY: 'Comic Sans MS'\">, en colaboraci\u00f3n con <\/span><span style=\"FONT-SIZE: 10pt; COLOR: blue; FONT-FAMILY: 'Comic Sans MS'\">Freddy Nachtergaele<\/span><span style=\"FONT-SIZE: 10pt; COLOR: #333300; FONT-FAMILY: 'Comic Sans MS'\"> de la <\/span><span style=\"FONT-SIZE: 10pt; COLOR: blue; FONT-FAMILY: 'Comic Sans MS'\">FAO<\/span><span style=\"FONT-SIZE: 10pt; COLOR: #333300; FONT-FAMILY: 'Comic Sans MS'\">, usando la clasificaci\u00f3n de dicha instituci\u00f3n, es mucho m\u00e1s refinada y precisa. Esta \u00faltima incluye una subdivisi\u00f3n de la edafosfera en edafomas y de estos en regiones de suelos. Cada una de estas unidades se encuentra caracterizada por una asociaci\u00f3n de suelos, basada en sus edafotaxa dominantes y en los idiosincr\u00e1sicos. Elaboramos tambi\u00e9n una descripci\u00f3n y nomenclatura (basada en los mentados usados por los sinfitosoci\u00f3logos) al segundo nivel de la FAO. Ya abundaremos en ello. Sin embargo, con vistas a comenzar a analizar la geograf\u00eda de suelos del mundo y\/o la megaedafolog\u00eda, consideramos que los datos aportados por estos dos estadounidenses son suficientemente buenos. Ya abordaremos, como hemos mentado, nuestra proposici\u00f3n, as\u00ed como la propia perspectiva de la FAO en otros post. The map identifies the <span style=\"COLOR: blue\">dominant soil suborders<\/span> and was originally published in the <span style=\"COLOR: blue\">2nd Edition of Soil Taxonomy, in 1999<\/span>. It has subsequently been <span style=\"COLOR: blue\">published in a number of textbooks and encyclopedias<\/span>. <span style=\"COLOR: blue\">The latest version includes changes<\/span> that reflect <span style=\"COLOR: blue\">updates to Soil Taxonomy<\/span>. The <span style=\"COLOR: blue\">introduction of the Gel- suborders required significant changes<\/span> that resulted in a substantial increase in the area of these suborders, particularly Inceptisols. <span style=\"COLOR: blue\">Other modifications were made based on new information from larger scale soil maps from select countries<\/span>. Additional changes are anticipated and will be included in the global map to be presented at the World Congress of Soil Science in July 2006. With the <span style=\"COLOR: blue\">introduction of the suborder of Gelepts<\/span>, <span style=\"COLOR: blue\">Inceptisols are the most extensive soils<\/span>, <span style=\"COLOR: blue\">followed by the Entisols<\/span>. <o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"MARGIN: 0cm 0cm 0pt; TEXT-ALIGN: justify\"><span lang=\"EN\" style=\"FONT-SIZE: 10pt; FONT-FAMILY: 'Comic Sans MS'; mso-ansi-language: EN-GB\"><o:p>&nbsp;<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"MARGIN: 0cm 0cm 0pt;
