The Foundation is a body for evaluating the quality of teaching, research, management and accreditation procedures of programs and strategies for the implementation of improvements. In this regard, its actions give priority to the improvement of teaching and research quality in line with the emerging trends of demands originating from the different cultural and productive sectors of society in Madrid and Spain. For all this, the Foundation cooperates with programs of quality, evaluation and accreditation of state character, other Autonomous Communities or internationally that are developed in these matters. It also undertakes collaboration and coordination of evaluation activities with the scientific research and technological development plans established by the Community of Madrid through the establishment of joint action programs.


On October 9, 2006, the Spanish Network of University Quality Agencies (REACU) was established, of which all Spanish agencies are members:

  • Agencia Valenciana d´Avaluació i Prospectiva (AVAP)
  • Agencia Nacional de Evaluación de la Calidad y Acreditación (ANECA)

  • Fundación para el Conocimiento madri+d (madri+d)

The objectives of REACU are:

  • Promote and develop cooperation and exchange of experiences and information, especially on methodologies and good practices.
  • Collaborate in promoting quality assurance.
  • Act as a forum in which standards, procedures and guidelines for quality assurance are proposed and developed.
  • Promote the development and implementation of quality assurance and accreditation systems for the agencies.
