Andreu Rico Artero

About me

My name is Andreu Rico, I have a degree in Environmental Sciences and a PhD in Aquatic Ecotoxicology from the University of Wageningen (The Netherlands). I lead the Ecotoxicology group of the IMDEA Water Institute and work at the University of Valencia. I coordinate research projects dedicated to assessing the impacts of chemical pollution and global climate change on aquatic ecosystems. My work brings together two of my passions: aquatic ecology and traveling. Through my work I have learned a lot about the underwater life of various rivers and seas, and I have traveled through countries in Asia, Latin America and Europe. I am father of two children. I like to enjoy my spare time with my family and explore together the less inhabited corners of the planet.
