About me

Beatriz Jurado Sánchez Associate Professor at the University of Alcala, where she has also been a Ramón y Cajal researcher since 2017. She graduated in Chemistry from the University of Jaen in 2004 and received her doctorate in Chemical Sciences from the University of Córdoba (2009). In 2013 she received a Marie Curie IOF Grant from the European Commission to carry out micromotor research work at the University of California San Diego, under the supervision of Prof. Joseph Wang. In 2016 he received the Young Researchers Award from the University of Alcala. She has participated or leaded as PI in more than 10 research projects obtained both in international calls (European Commission, Defense Threat Reduction Agency, USA) and in the Spanish National Research Plan. She is co-author of 72 scientific articles (index h, 33), 5 international book chapters and 20 oral communications at international conferences. These works have been reviewed up to 4 times as cover in the top journals Angewandte Chemie International Edition, Chemical Science and Analytical Chemistry. She is also an evaluator for the Agencia Estatal de Investigacion and the German Research Foundation. He has important collaborations with renowned scientists such as Prof. Joseph Wang of the University of California-San Diego or Prof. Qiang He of the Harbin Institute of Technology. During his stay in the USA he acquired extensive experience in the synthesis of Janus tubular micromotors for environmental, biomedical and sensing applications. One of his main hobbies is reading novels, walking long hours through Alcala de Henares and ornithology.
