About me

Chemical Engineer, Professor in the Department of Chemical and Materials Engineering at the Complutense University of Madrid. Vice-Dean of Economic Affairs, Infrastructures and Sustainability of the Faculty of Chemical Sciences of the Complutense University of Madrid.

Throughout my 20 years of research experience, I have worked in a wide variety of industrial sectors, always with the same objective: to reduce the environmental impact of processes and achieve more sustainable processes. Most of my work has focused on industrial wastewater management and treatment, however, I have also worked on the management of different types of waste, including waste paper and agri-food waste, as well as on the reduction of emissions in transport. I would like to highlight that I have been responsible for two UCM development education projects (2021 and 2023), where I have coordinated different training and awareness-raising actions in environmental sustainability and sustainable development: conferences, exhibitions, courses and workshops, symposiums and congresses, etc.

I love travelling, and if it is in good company, all the better. I like to discover history through travel and I never miss a Greek or Roman ruin close to where I travel. If I have to choose between the beach and the mountains, I prefer the mountains, although going to Cabo de Gata is one of my weaknesses. I also like watching series and films, reading, although the latter is my favourite pastime.
