About me

María Purificación González began her first research work in Biochemistry at the University of Burgos after studying Chemical Sciences and Food Science and Technology Degree. Her professional career continued at the Faculty of Pharmacy of the San Pablo CEU University (Madrid), where she completed her doctoral thesis in Nutrition and Bromatology. Her research has mainly focused on the study of the new functions of the vitamin folic acid in relation to cancer prevention. In recent years she has also been working on the assessment of nutritional status in pathological situations such as cancer and on the nutritional problems associated with celiac disease, as well as on the nutritional assessment of gluten-free processed foods. She is interested in healthy eating and its relation to the promotion of people's health. These are some of the research topics she is currently working on in the Food and Nutrition in Health Promotion Research Group (CEU-NutriFOOD). Over the years he has grown to love his work as a teacher and researcher more and more.
Her hobbies include travelling for tourism, hiking, and swimming, reading, cooking and enjoying time with her family and friends.
