PALOMA ALCORLO PAGÉS

About me

Paloma Alcorlo is a PhD Contracted Professor of the Department of Ecology of the Autonomous University of Madrid. His research activity has focused on studying the effect of invasive species on the structure and functioning of Mediterranean aquatic ecosystems. Other areas of ecology in which she has been involved are related to ecotoxicology, studying the effects of heavy metal contamination in aquatic ecosystems. He is currently working on three lines of research, the first related to the description of food webs using stable isotopes in wetlands, extreme saline ecosystems (DryharshSal project) and paleodiets. The second is related to the analysis of the effect of fishing on the biodiversity of the Mediterranean Sea in Natura 2000 protected sites (EME-Mar project); and the third in the study of the impact of changes in land use on the aquatic biodiversity of ponds and water points of cattle tracks and ravines (ClimaRiskingPond and Life Cañadas projects). I love going on excursions to the countryside with my friends and ending with some good tapas.
