Lourdes García Ureña

About me

Associate Professor in the Facultad de Humanidades y Ciencias de la Comunicación of CEU-San Pablo University in Madrid (Spain). She holds degrees in Classical Philology (1989) and Theology (1999) and a PhD in Theology (PUSC, Rome, 2003) and Classical Philology (UCO, 2009). She has carried out various investigative stays at prestigious universities such as Harvard University (2019) and Yale University (2014; 2012).
One of her lines of research deals with a highly topical subject: color. Color is an element that shapes reality and is present in literature and art not only to describe objects, but also to arouse emotions and communicate feelings. This is found in the Bible (the book that has most influenced Western culture), as can be seen in the publications that Lourdes García Ureña has carried out. In order to delve deeper into this subject, since 2005 she leads the research group LECOBI ‘the language of color in the Bible’ (PC06/0720) at the University CEU-San Pablo, which has an interdisciplinary character and disseminates its research both nationally and internationally.
She loves reading, hiking and climbing. Although when the weather is bad, the next option is the cinema.
