About me
"Hello! My name is Judith Gañán. I hold a degree in Chemical Sciences from the Complutense University of Madrid and a PhD from Rey Juan Carlos University and the University of Castilla-La Mancha. I am currently a Tenured Lecturer (Profesora Contratada Doctora) in the area of Analytical Chemistry at Rey Juan Carlos University, where I teach in various degree programs such as Food Science and Technology, Biology, Experimental Sciences, Pharmacy, among others.
I am also a member of the consolidated research group in Analytical Chemistry applied to the Environment, Food, and Pharmaceuticals (GQAA-MAF), where I carry out my research work. My research career began in 2008 thanks to a scholarship awarded by the company Beckman-Coulter. Since then, I have been working on the analysis of contaminants in food and water using various analytical techniques. One of my main lines of research focuses on the synthesis of new mesostructured materials to be applied in the development of new sustainable and environmentally friendly analytical methodologies aimed at improving food safety and quality.
Over the years, I have participated in numerous competitive research projects funded by the National Plan, the Community of Madrid, and URJC. In my free time, I love spending time with my family and friends, and I find watercolor painting incredibly relaxing!"
