About me

With a Bachelor's Degree in East Asian Studies and a Master's in Communication and Culture, Carlos collaborates with the Ciberimaginario research group through a predoctoral research contract. He is an active member of the scientific association Icono14, where he contributes as a technical editor in communication.
His doctoral thesis focuses on the use of video game experiences to raise awareness about climate resilience in coastal environments. His research is linked to game studies, approaching the field from procedural rhetoric and semiotics to develop persuasive ludonarratives.
Carlos has also contributed as a cultural critic in magazines such as Games Tribune Magazine, Kaibun, and Break, writing numerous essays on game design and ergodic literature. In 2022, he completed a research stay funded by CASA Sevilla at the Virtual Embodiment Lab at Cornell University, where he coordinated the development of a Virtual Reality experience aimed at raising awareness about obsessive-compulsive disorder.
