About me

I hold a PhD in Chemistry from the City University of New York (2009) and am a principal researcher at IMDEA Nanoscience (Madrid), where I lead a group focused on studying intracellular and extracellular temperature using optical tools applied to biomedicine.
My line of research combines nanotechnology, advanced fluorescence, and cell biology to develop molecular thermometers capable of measuring and manipulating temperature at the nanometric scale, with applications mainly in cancer.
In my free time, and depending on how much I feel like getting lost, I enjoy going for a run (I have run a half marathon), practising Aikido (a Japanese martial art) and, like any good Argentinean, dancing the tango.
