Hello, my name is Pablo Gutiérrez de la Peña and I am a biologist from the Complutense University of Madrid. I am currently doing a PhD at the Royal Botanical Garden of Madrid-CSIC studying the biogeography of the genus of plants 'Hypericum'. Since I was little I have gone to the countryside a lot with my parents, so it has always been clear to me that I wanted to study biology. Although now I am focused on botanical biogeography, during my degree I was working on plant ecology in the botany department of the UCM, and when I finished I worked in the botanical garden with fungi. I still go out to the field a lot, and I really like weightlifting, what's more, I've been a high-performance athlete.
