Víctor Ruiz-Valdepeñas Montiel


About me

Professor in the Analytical Chemistry Department of the Chemistry Faculty at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid (UCM) since 2022. He has conducted his predoctoral and postdoctoral training in the Electroanalysis and Electrochemical (Bio)sensors and Nano Bioelectronics groups at the UCM and the University of California San Diego, respectively. He received his PhD degree in 2019 (Sobresaliente cum laude by UCM, defended with European mention, Extraordinary Doctorate Award granted by the UCM and best PhD Thesis award from the specialized group in (Bio)Analytical Sciences and Technologies of the Royal Spanish Society of Chemistry). Since March 2022, he returned to Spain from California as part of the Talent Attraction Program of the Autonomous Community of Madrid. Currently, his main research interests are focused on the design and application of state-of-the-art electrochemical (bio)sensors to address the most pressing analytical issues of contemporary society. Apart from research, he is currently enjoying his incipient academic career for the formation of future generations. In his time off he enjoys music, animals, and nature.
