Isabel Izquierdo Barba


About me

Associate Professor in the Department of Chemistry in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Inorganic Chemistry Unit (Bioinorganics and Biomaterials) at the Complutense University of Madrid.
I studied Pharmacy at the UCM and received my PhD from the same university with Extraordinary Prize (2002). I have carried out different research stays such as the Department of Condensed Matter Physics at the University of Cadiz, the Laboratorie Chimie de la Matiére Condensée Pierre at the Marie Curie University (CNRS, France), the University of Stockholm (Sweden) and the Shanghai Jiao Tong University (China). In 2007 I was hired as a Ramón y Cajal researcher at UCM.
My research area focuses on new materials for bone tissue engineering and the treatment of bone infections.
My hobbies include cooking and sharing my recipes with my family.
