About me

My name is Yolanda Ruiz, I have a degree in Biological Sciences, specializing in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, and a Doctor in Biology. I have been working in different research centers, first as a researcher and then as a laboratory technician. For 15 years I have been working at the Royal Botanical Garden-CSIC of Madrid as head of the Scanning Electron Microscope. Here we are specialists in preparing biological samples with special difficulty (young plant tissues, delicate structures and microorganisms growing in liquid medium). Since 2014, I have also been in charge of coordinating and managing equipment and technical personnel in the Laboratory. I have participated in several research projects, scientific articles and training and dissemination activities. When I leave the laboratory, I always return home taking a walk in the Garden. I love cooking, reading, watching series, traveling and enjoying everything I can, making fun plans with my family and friends.
