About me

Antonio Acosta Iborra is full professor of Thermal Machines and Engines at the Department of Thermal and Fluids Engineering of Carlos III University of Madrid (UC3M). PhD in Mechanical Engineering and Industrial Organization and B.S. in Industrial Engineering (UC3M), he also completed a degree in Physics (UNED). He has been researching for more than 20 years in several topics, including the numerical simulation of heat and mass transfer processes of industrial interest, the use of digital particle image analysis to understand fluid flows and fluidized beds and the application of analytical methods to heat transfer. Currently, his research is focused on the development of new technologies for renewable energy generation by means of concentrating solar energy, with special emphasis on the analysis and thermo-structural modeling of tubular receivers and heat exchangers for the future generation of solar power tower plants. In addition to science and teaching, he loves walking in nature, gardening and language learning.
