About me

Oscar E. Bonilla-Manrique was born in Neiva (Huila, Colombia) in 1988. He is a professor in the Department of Electronic Technology at Universidad Carlos III de Madrid (UC3M). He received his Ph.D. cum laude in Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Automation from UC3M in 2020. He also received his M.S. degrees in Telecommunications Engineering and Electronic Systems Engineering from the same university in 2015. His research interests focus on the development of optical sensors, measurement systems for industrial applications, analytical chemistry and environmental monitoring based on spectroscopy techniques such as photoacoustics, radiometry and infrared absorption/dispersion spectroscopy. In addition, in the development of electro-optical frequency comb sources for the optical measurement of compounds. He was a guest researcher at the Institute of Chemical Technologies and Analytics (Technische Universität Wien). Among his hobbies, Oscar loves to travel, share good beers and enjoy board games.
