Collaborators

Professors José Antonio Rodríguez Martínez and Guadalupe Vadillo Martin from the UC3M Nonlinear Solid Mechanics (NSM) group managed to make their dreams of studying metal pores come true and create a theme park with them. Before opening it to the public, they want to invite a group of eminent people to test the feasibility of the project and the possible effect that this park could have on a greener world. The research carried out by the NSM group will be presented through this virtual visit to a theme park, where you will discover the mysteries of the fascinating world of printed materials. We will show how materials deform and break under extreme conditions, such as high-speed impacts. Attendees will have the opportunity to see a virtual recreation of the microstructure of a printed metallic material. Research staff from the PURPOSE (ERC starting grant, GA 758056), QUANTIFY (Marie Sklodowska-Curie GA 777896) and DIAGONAL (Marie Sklodowska-Curie GA 101086342) projects funded by the Horizon 2020 and Horizon research and innovation programs collaborate in this activity. Europe of the European Commission. In addition, research staff from the UNCLOAK project (PID2022-137559NB-I00) funded by the Knowledge Generation Projects 2022 program of the Spanish Ministry of Science and Innovation, and the MIRROR project funded by the Leonardo Scholarships program of the BBVA Foundation, also participate.
