About me

I am Luis Merino Martín and my main research interest is the study of soil ecological processes, with special attention to erosion, aggregate stability and carbon storage and soil biodiversity. I am particularly interested in the processes and feedbacks between soil structure and biodiversity, with a focus on the study of root traits and soil microbial communities (mainly fungi and bacteria). Interested in the practical application of scientific knowledge, I have developed a large part of my research in the field of ecological restoration of degraded environments, having worked in several laboratories and countries (Germany, Spain, Guatemala, Australia, United Kingdom and France).
