In the current context, in which the microplastic pellets that have reached and continue to reach our coasts headline all the news and newspapers and monopolize a large part of the discussions on social networks, it seems the ideal time to raise awareness of what these tiny particles are that we can barely see but have become major players in the environmental pollution of our time. So, we are going to discover what microplastic pellets are, what they are used for in industry, how they have reached the beaches and what risks they have for people, animals, and plants. In addition, because of human activity, we will see where these pollutants normally end up (sewage treatment plants) and how we can try to prevent their dispersion in the environment. These actions are carried out within the framework of the projects REGENEDAR (TED2021-131380A-C22) and ELECTRO4PLAST (CNS2023-144029).
