Hacer una estancia en EMBL

Seguro que muchos de vosotros habréis oído hablar del EMBL (European Molecular Biology Laboratory), y de sus instalaciones en Heidelberg (Alemania). Si estáis pensando en realizar una estancia allí, y vuestros contratos/becas actuales son lo suficientemente flexibles, estáis de enhorabuena. Hoy me ha llegado la información de que está abierto el plazo de solicitudes en la convocatoria de este año de las «becas españolas» para la realización de estancias en el extranjero (por ejemplo, EMBL/Heidelberg). El plazo para la presentación de solicitudes está abierto de forma improrrogable hasta el 29 de Mayo. El dinero de estas becas viene del Subprograma de especialización en infraestructuras científicas y organismos internacionales (Programa de internacionalización de la I+D, Ministerio de Ciencia e Innovación). Lo más curioso es que la información viene desde EMBL, vía Alfonso Valencia, en vez de directamente del ministerio, debido a que los centros o grupos de destino tienen que mostrar interés por «hospedar» a la gente.

This is to inform you that this year’s call for “Spanish Fellowships” is now open. As in the past years, candidates are invited to apply for a fellowship to conduct research at EMBL. The call is open to Spanish nationals or Spanish residents (!).

As is evident from the excellent fellows we are already hosting, this is a very good opportunity for you to select and host a Spanish research fellow. Please note that the call is open not only for Postdocs but also for PhD candidates (who would however also have to go through the EMBL PhD Selection procedure).

The deadline for application is May 29, 2010!

Therefore, to still ensure that enough very good candidates apply, we need your help.

If you recently hired a Spanish postdoc (or PhD), or envisage to do so in the near future, and if funding is flexible, please ask her/him to apply to this year’s call.  For More information and to apply online please see:
