A group of high school students visited the CSIC's Center for Human and Social Sciences to participate in a medieval writing workshop. The students embarked on a fascinating journey that began with writing materials. The activity started with a short video presenting the diversity of writing in different languages. At a table simulating a medieval writing desk, the participants discovered the various materials involved in the writing process, such as papyrus, parchment, quills, inks, and their manufacturing processes, understanding the importance of materiality in the act of writing.

Next, they moved to a section furnished with bookshelves, images of manuscripts, and facsimiles of codices from diverse traditions, in order to illustrate their diversity and appreciate the richness of their composition.
