The event consists of a talk discussing how medicines found in the wastewater from our homes can enter the environment and, via surface water, end up in the food we eat. Particular emphasis will be placed on antibiotics due to their significant impact on the emergence of antibiotic-resistant bacteria, and this aspect will be explored in depth. The event will serve as a platform to raise awareness about the responsible use of antibiotics and the importance of taking expired medicines to a recycling point (SIGRE in Spain).
Activity carried out in collaboration with the following projects and grants:
- PIPF-2024/ECO-35722, funded by the Community of Madrid).
- Reuse4Food project (CIVP22S18420), funded by the Ramón Areces Foundation.
