Óscar Gálvez González

About me

Óscar Gálvez is a Tenured Professor at the Department of Interdisciplinary Physics at UNED and Principal Investigator of the research group Infrared and Raman Spectroscopy. His work focuses on the study of ices and aggregates of atmospheric and astrophysical interest, as well as new materials (such as polymers and two-dimensional materials), using various experimental techniques (IR spectroscopy, Raman spectroscopy, mass spectrometry, electrochemistry, TPD) and theoretical approaches (ab initio calculations on molecules, clusters, and solids).
In terms of science outreach, he has been a member of the scientific theatre group TeatrIEM since 2014, performing in various plays on scientific themes. He has also taken part in numerous outreach projects supported by FECYT, both with the theatre group and through the development of experiment kits in electromagnetism (Faraday Kit) and optics (Fresnel Kit), which have been presented at different editions of the Science Week, European Researchers' Night, International Day of Light, Science Fairs, and Physics Education Conferences.
