Juanjo Bermúdez de Castro
About me
Juanjo Bermúdez de Castro is a lecturer at the University of the Balearic Islands and the founder and director of the UIB Theatre Company (2017-). He teaches courses on modern and contemporary US literature, cinema and culture; history of social movements, feminisms, the fight of the LGBTIQA+ community and the civil rights movement; new methodologies of English learning; and theatre history, theory and practice in the theatre company of the UIB. After completing studies in Mathematical Sciences, Dramatic Art, English Philology and Hispanic Philology, he completed an MA in European and Comparative Literature, an MA in English Teaching Training, and an MA in American Studies at New York University (NYU), after completing a research stay on Shakespeare Studies at the Royal Holloway University of London (RHUL). He worked as editor of the literary journal of Princeton University and as director of the theatre company de Cervantes Institute in New York.
