Jesús López-Peláez if Full Professor at the University of Jaén, Corresponding Member of the North American Academy of the Spanish Language (ANLE, New York), Director of an English Studies Research Group of the Junta de Andalucía (HUM 271), and PI of an R&D Project on the economy and the discourses of gold in texts from the early modern period. He has been a visiting researcher at several North American institutions (Arizona State University, Michigan State University, Penn State University, and the Folger Shakespeare Library), and he directs direct the "Literary Studies" Collection (an UJA Editorial collection). He regularly participates as an Expert-Evaluator and Rapporteur in the area of Humanities for the European Commission. He has published several books and articles in publishing houses and journals in Europe and the United States.
