Carmen García Bueno

About me

From quite early on, Carmen knew she was going to find the missing link in humanity, until Latin and Greek intersected in her life, and she swapped paleontology for paleography, prehistory for the 16th century, and Atapuerca for the library of the El Escorial Monastery. This curiosity for languages, lines, and paper led her to calligraphy, but she's also interested in traditional and digital printing, embroidered letters, and crossword puzzles. For her doctorate, she studied the handwriting of a Greek copyist who was quite the adventurer, which allowed her to visit some of Europe's most impressive historical libraries. For some time now, she has also been trying to understand and take advantage of what they call "Digital Humanities."
In her free time, she strives to spend quality time with her people, whether it's walking, knitting, doing yoga, or having a good conversation in a quiet place.
