UC3M | Hack your Senses: Body Transformation Experiences with Wearables

Our body perception influences movement, environmental and social interactions and health. This perception is dynamic and is updated by sensory cues. In our research we use wearable technologies to explore how to hack the senses and create Body Transformation Experiences, changing people's perception of the body as well as their behaviour, emotion and health. We will present our approaches that combine neuroscience, human-computer interaction, engineering and AI, as well as our participatory design thinking and embodied methods that use the body in movement inspired by theatrical/scenic techniques. During the talk we will demonstrate our prototypes and invite the audience to experiment with them and reflect on their potential in health, wellbeing and design.
